Is your wooden door installed?

Choosing the right wooden door is essential, but equally important is the quality of its installation. To ensure your wooden door functions properly and looks great, it's crucial to follow these key installation standards.

1. Door Panel Installation:

First, the door panel should be securely attached with no visible gaps or seams. All fixed parts must be properly locked in place. The diagonal measurement of the door panel must be accurate—within 1 mm for panels under 2 meters, and up to 1.5 mm for longer ones. After installation, the door should be perfectly vertical and horizontal, with a vertical tolerance of +2 mm and a horizontal straightness tolerance of +1 mm. The door panel must be fastened with at least three screws per side, and if the width exceeds 200 mm, an additional metal plate should be installed. The gap between the panel and the wall should be sealed with foam rubber on both sides, ensuring even application and a smooth finish after drying.

2. Trim Installation:

The trim should be evenly glued to both the door panel and the wall. The joints must be flat, tight, and seamless. Once installed, all trim on the same side should lie in a single plane. If the wall isn't perfectly flat, the trim joint must still be smooth. A slight curve in the trim is acceptable, with a maximum tolerance of 1 mm. A sealing strip should be applied to fill any gaps between the trim and the wall.

3. Door Leaf Installation:

The door leaf must be straight and plumb, with the edge aligned with the door frame. It should open and close smoothly without any unusual noise. The gap between the door leaf and the frame should be 6 mm at the bottom and 2 mm on the other sides, with a tolerance of ±0.5 mm. When closed, the door should fit tightly against the seal and remain stable without wobbling.

4. Hardware Installation:

The hinges must be installed vertically and flush with the surface. The hinge slots on the door leaf and frame should match precisely, with a tolerance of ±0.5 mm on all sides. The joints should be smooth and seamless, and the hinges should open and close effortlessly. For triple-hinge doors, the latch must be correctly positioned and fully inserted. All screws should be fully tightened, straight, and hidden within the hinge plane.

The lock slot must be accurately cut to match the lock body and latch. The lock should operate smoothly without any noise, and all hardware components, such as handles, closers, and magnets, should be installed in their designated positions. Screws must be secure, straight, and firmly in place to ensure durability.

5. Overall Appearance:

The gap between the door frame and the trim should not exceed 3 mm, and this space should be sealed with waterproof sealant. Once the entire door is installed, it should appear level, function smoothly, and have a clean, professional look with no scratches or damage.
