Bahrain's Medal to Process Aluminum Products in Mozambique

Medar Cabos is a subsidiary of Bahrain-Medal Cable Co., which recently signed a contract with Mozar, the second-largest producer in Africa. The company will process some aluminum products in Mozambique.

Amando Inroga, Minister of Industry and Trade of Mozambique, said: “Although all aluminum products required by our construction department, electrification engineering and automobile production industry have been imported from abroad, this agreement will replace imported products with locally produced products, thus reducing the Construction costs for other industries."

Under the terms of the contract, Mozar will provide 50,000 tons of aluminum ingots to Medal, which will use it as a raw material for the production of cables. Mydal's products will likely support the local automobile industry and construction industry.

Madar Cabos will process raw materials at the Beluluane Industrial Park in Maputo, Mozambique, where the Mozar foundry is located.

Medal is a company co-founded in 1977 by Bahrain Intersteel and Olex Cable Australia.
