Effect of Aluminum Silicate in Coatings Aluminum silicate is made of hard clay clinker as raw material, and it is made by resistance melting or electric arc furnace melting and jetting into fiber. It is characterized by its low thermal conductivity, excellent thermal stability and chemical stability free of binders and corrosive substances.

The role of aluminum silicate in coatings:

1, ultra-fine aluminum silicate latex paint has a good scrub resistance, weather resistance, in addition to shorten the surface dry time;

2, ultra-fine aluminum silicate extinction effect, so in semi-gloss, matt paint can be used as an economic matting agent, not suitable for use in glossy paint;

3, the ultra-fine, grid structure of aluminum silicate makes the latex paint system slightly thickened, has a good suspensibility, and prevents the occurrence of solids sinking and surface water separation phenomenon.

4. Superfine aluminum silicate replaces part of titanium dioxide, its dry film hiding power will not change, and it can improve the whiteness of the paint. If the amount of titanium dioxide is not changed, the dry film hiding power is obviously improved, and the whiteness is greatly improved;

5, PH value of ultra-fine aluminum silicate is in the range of 9.7-10.8, which has a pH buffering effect. In particular, in the storage of vinyl acetate emulsion paint, the phenomenon of pH drop due to the hydrolysis of vinyl acetate can be prevented, the dispersion stability of the latex paint is increased, and the inner wall of the metal container is protected from corrosion.
