As their popularity grows, proper maintenance becomes essential to ensure long-term performance and extend the lifespan of these displays. Typically, LCD splicing devices come in two main configurations. The first type features a protective layer on the outer surface, such as a transparent hard plastic cover, which prevents direct contact between the screen and external elements like fingers or dust. In this case, cleaning is relatively simple—just wiping the exterior with a soft cloth is usually sufficient. However, the second and more common type involves a directly exposed LCD screen, where any foreign substance can easily touch the surface. This requires extra care during cleaning to avoid damage. Myth #1: Using alcohol or other chemical solvents to clean the LCD screen. While alcohol is an effective organic solvent for removing stubborn dirt, it should never be used on an LCD splicing screen. Alcohol can dissolve the special anti-reflective or oleophobic coating applied by manufacturers, which can negatively affect the display quality and even cause permanent damage. Misunderstanding #2: Cleaning the LCD splicing screen with plain water. Water can easily seep into the screen’s internal components, leading to short circuits or even complete failure of the device. Additionally, water isn't very effective at removing fingerprints or oily smudges. In fact, excessive wiping with water can leave streaks and make the screen look worse. Misunderstanding #3: Using a soft cloth, eyeglass cloth, or paper towel to clean the screen. These materials may seem gentle, but they can actually scratch the sensitive surface of the LCD. It's better to start by blowing off loose dust, then gently wipe the remaining particles with a dedicated LCD cleaning cloth. For fingerprints and oil stains, using a specialized liquid crystal cleaning cloth is more effective. These cloths are made from special fibers that are less likely to scratch the screen and also help reduce static, preventing further dust accumulation. This makes the cleaning process not only more efficient but also safer for your display.
