The overall efficiency of Chinese cloned pigs and transgenic pigs technology has reached the international advanced level.

The appraisal committee headed by the vice president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Mr. Xu Rigan, believed that the project was well-designed, advanced technology, detailed data, sufficient evidence, and reliable results. The construction and research work of the cloning pig and transgenic cloning pig technology platform was at the international advanced level. The study of human lysozyme gene and MSTN gene knockout cloned pig has reached the international advanced level.

It is understood that Professor Li Ning, professor of China Agricultural University and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, collaborated with a Beijing-based biotechnology company, and after four years of efforts to establish a somatic cell clone pig, a transgenic clone pig, and a gene knockout cloned pig production technology platform, A total of 28 somatic cell clones of Göttingen minipigs, Chinese experimental minipigs, Landrace and Great White pigs, 16 pigs with lysozyme gene clones and 1 pig lysozyme gene cloned, and 4 pigs cloned. 4 The cloned Landrace pigs with a single point knockdown of the somatostatin (MSTN) gene, in which the somatic cell clone Goettingen minipigs, the cloned pigs transduced with human lysozyme genes, and the knockout of the MSTN gene, were all obtained for the first time in the world.

Somatic cell clone pig technology and transgenic pig technology have important application values ​​in many fields such as basic science research, human medicine, and animal husbandry production. The Göttingen minipigs in Europe are recognized worldwide as model animal breeds. They are widely used in new drug screening, xenotransplantation and other applications. They are European restricted export swine species, and the Göttingen minipigs have been successfully cloned to cultivate Chinese medicine. The development of miniature pig breeds explores new ways.

Human lysozyme-transgenic pigs were successfully cultured to produce recombinant human lysozyme in sow's milk. Since human lysozyme has a killing effect on most pathogenic microorganisms such as swine fever virus and piglet diarrheal pathogen, it will significantly improve the disease resistance of piglets. The survival rate lays the foundation for breeding new breeds of pigs with high resistance to disease. After mutation of MSTN gene, muscle growth of animals will be accelerated and muscle mass will increase. Therefore, the successful development of MSTN knockout pigs is expected to breed a new breed of genetically engineered pigs with high lean meat and fast growth in China's independent intellectual property rights. The achievement of these achievements will greatly accelerate the industrialization of somatic cell cloned pigs in China and the development of new breeds of transgenic pigs.
