The world's cutting tool giant Sandvik Group is acquiring 92.5% of its assets (about $40.6 million) from a Norwegian tool manufacturer Teeness ASA. The acquisition was completed at the end of May 2008.
Teeness manufactures the Silent Tools anti-vibration tool line for machining workpieces on vibration-resistant machines, which are sold by Sandvik Coromant. Teeness has 105 employees and had sales of approximately $35 million in 2007. Upon completion of the acquisition, the company will be integrated into the business scope of Sandvik Tooling.
