Water-cooled air conditioning is part of the evaporative cooling industry, and its classification varies due to regional differences in customs and terminology across provinces. In different areas, these systems are known by various names. For example, they are referred to as environmentally-friendly air conditioners in Australia and Guangdong, energy-saving and eco-friendly air conditioners in Guangdong and Guangxi, air coolers in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, water-cooled air conditioners in Hubei and Jiangxi, and cool air blowers or air conditioners in Hong Kong and Macao. Some customers also call them new wind turbines or workshop air conditioners.
The evaporative cooling industry has emerged relatively recently and lacks a unified industry name and standard. As a result, the sector has been in a state of disorder with no clear regulations or standards in place. However, this situation is changing. Two years ago, the National Standardization Committee began working on developing industry standards. After several meetings organized by three different committees, the drafting working group for the "National Standards for Commercial or Industrial Evaporative Air Conditioners" was officially established. This group met at Corey Company and finalized the implementation standards.
The new national standard now includes products such as environmentally-friendly air conditioners, energy-saving and eco-friendly air conditioners, air coolers, water-cooled air conditioners, and other evaporative cooling devices, all collectively referred to as commercial or industrial evaporative air conditioners. This development marks a significant step toward regulation and standardization in an industry that once lacked structure and clarity. With the introduction of these standards, the evaporative cooling industry is moving towards greater professionalism and consistency.
