Sino-Russian Advanced Preparation Laboratory for Superhard Materials in Kunming

Recently, the Sino-Russian Joint Laboratory for Advanced Preparation Technology of Superhard Materials was officially launched at Kunming University of Science and Technology. This significant event marked a new milestone in international scientific collaboration between China and Russia. During the ceremony, several distinguished guests were present, including a foreign academician from the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, foreign experts from the "Thousand Talents Program" of the Chinese Central Organization Department, and Professor Victor Chethogin from the Southern Russian State Technical University. At the event, the foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences presented the Foreign Academician Certificate to Professor Peng Jinhui of Kunming University of Science and Technology. This gesture symbolized the deepening relationship between the two countries in the field of advanced materials research. In addition, the Key Laboratory of Unconventional Metallurgy under the Ministry of Education at Kunming University of Science and Technology signed a cooperation agreement with the Institute of Superhard Materials at the Russian National Technical University and the Moscow Institute of Innovation and Technology. Together, they established the Sino-Russian Joint Laboratory for Advanced Preparation Technology of Superhard Materials. According to the cooperation agreement, both parties will focus on microwave technology and superhard material preparation, jointly setting up laboratories and conducting joint research. They will also engage in academic exchanges, personnel training, and technology sharing in areas such as superhard materials, metallurgy, and microwave applications. The collaboration includes mutual visits, technical support, and equipment exchange, aiming to enhance research capabilities and foster innovation. Joint laboratories are becoming an essential part of modern scientific development.
