Wet curtain construction

A wet curtain, also known as a water curtain, is a honeycomb-shaped structure made from treated paper. The manufacturing process typically involves several stages, including sizing, drying, corrugating, shaping, gluing, solidifying, cutting, grinding, and deodorizing. This ensures the final product is both durable and efficient in its function.

In China, wet curtains are commonly available with three different wave heights: 5mm, 7mm, and 9mm. The corrugation angles vary, with common configurations such as 60°×30° staggered and opposite, or 45°×45° staggered. These variations affect the performance and suitability for different applications.

High-quality wet curtains are now manufactured using advanced polymer materials and space cross-linking technology. This innovation brings numerous benefits, including excellent water absorption, strong water resistance, and resistance to mold and decay. These curtains also offer an extended service life. Compared to traditional models, they have higher evaporation rates, with cooling efficiency exceeding 80%. They do not contain surfactants, allowing water to be naturally absorbed and spread quickly across the surface. In fact, a single drop of water can spread within 4 to 5 seconds. According to international industry standards, the water absorption rate should be between 60-70mm per 5 minutes or 200mm per 1.5 hours.

Unlike some lower-quality alternatives, high-grade wet curtains are free from harmful chemicals like phenol, which can cause skin irritation. When installed and used properly, they are safe, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly. They are energy-efficient, cost-effective, and contribute to sustainable building practices. Whether used in industrial cooling systems or residential ventilation setups, these curtains provide an effective and eco-conscious solution.
