Three kinds of fertilizers cannot be mixed

Farmyard manure should not be mixed with alkaline fertilizers such as wood ash, lime nitrogen, quicklime, or calcium magnesium phosphate. This is because the primary component of animal and human waste is nitrogen. When combined with strong alkaline substances, a neutralization reaction occurs, which reduces the effectiveness of the fertilizer. Similarly, superphosphate should not be mixed with alkaline materials like wood ash or lime nitrogen, as this can decrease the availability of phosphorus to plants. Insoluble phosphate fertilizers, such as rock phosphate or bone meal, also shouldn't be combined with alkaline substances. Doing so makes it even harder for these fertilizers to dissolve in the soil, limiting their absorption by crops and reducing their overall effectiveness. In addition, alkaline fertilizers like calcium magnesium phosphate should not be mixed with ammonium-based nitrogen fertilizers. When combined with substances such as ammonium bicarbonate, ammonium sulfate, ammonium nitrate, or ammonium chloride, the mixture increases ammonia volatilization, leading to a loss of nitrogen and reduced fertilizer efficiency. It's important to understand that proper fertilizer management plays a key role in maximizing nutrient uptake by plants and maintaining soil health. Always check compatibility before mixing different types of fertilizers to avoid chemical reactions that may harm your crops or reduce the benefits of your inputs. 【Comment】 【Print this article】 【Close this page】 【Large, medium and small】
