Storage black technology: 215PB per gram can save thousands of years

Now with technological developments, including the popularity of 4K, 8K ultra high definition content, whether individuals or businesses, have raised the demand for more storage capacity.
According to R&D personnel, physical media storage has reached a bottleneck in terms of storage density, volume, and cost balance, so it is necessary to find a new alternative technology.
Now, the efforts of scientists have been effective.
Recent research confirms that there is a broad prospect for biological storage, such as DNA. By using streaming and online video compression data technology, researchers were able to package 1.6 bits of data into each nucleotide, approaching the theoretical limit of 1.8. This may not sound like much, but scientists have shown that they can effectively store 215 PB of data in one gram of DNA.

The technology also has other advantages, such as high reliability, and the fact that DNA will never be outdated. Like other technologies, DNA can be stored for thousands of years and data can still be read afterwards.
However, this technology is currently facing a high cost threshold, which still requires thousands of dollars to store and retrieve just a few megabytes of data.

Tempered or toughened glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal to increase its strength compared with normal glass. Tempering puts the outer surfaces into compression and the interior into tension. Such stresses cause the glass, when broken, to crumble into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards as plate glass (a.k.a. annealed glass) does. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury.
