The number of British fans lags behind European neighbors

According to a recent report by the International Energy Comprehensive Media, the Renewable UK study shows that in terms of the number of onshore wind turbines, the United Kingdom has lagged behind its European neighbors Denmark and Germany.

The number of wind turbines in Denmark is close to 11 with 100 square kilometers, followed by Germany and the Netherlands, with more than 5 in number, and only 1 in the United Kingdom.

The United Kingdom has almost the best wind energy resources in Europe, but currently there are only 2,664 onshore wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 3,580 MW. This can be understood as the lowest per capita onshore wind power installed capacity in Europe, only 58 watts per person.

The goal set by the British government is to achieve 15GW of offshore wind power capacity by 2020, which is enough to meet about 10% of the UK's net electricity consumption demand - but it needs the government to make critical decisions this summer to push forward the progress.
