The 280 nm high-power deep ultraviolet light emitting chip developed by Qingdao Jiesheng Electric Co., Ltd., under the conditions of normal temperature and normal pressure and continuous current of 1000 mA, has achieved a stable output power of 176.6 milliwatts for a single chip, while the voltage is only 5.8 volts. These excellent electrical characteristics allow the high-power chip to be energized to 1 ampere by DC, before approaching the output power saturation. The single chip's maximum output power record has far surpassed the 100 milliwatts recently reported by SETI of the United States, Japan's ICT Research Institute and the 90-millimeter record of Deshan. Professionals said that this technology is a major breakthrough for China's deep ultraviolet LED field.
