Construction does not warn the guy to ride a motorcycle and crash cement block

Accident motorcycle crashes into rocks

On the early morning of January 19, a tragic motorcycle accident occurred at the construction site of the Dongkeng Bridge on the Yellow Line of the Lianjiang River. A two-person motorcycle was overturned, resulting in the death of a 20-year-old man.

The family of the deceased claims that the construction site lacked proper safety measures. They allege that the project company did not set up clear warning signs and instead used crumbling blocks as barriers, which ultimately led to the accident. According to them, the motorcyclist hit one of these cement blocks, causing fatal head injuries. The family believes the project owner, Lianjiang County Road and Harbor Engineering Development Co., is responsible for the incident. The police are currently investigating the case.

A 20-Year-Old Man Lost His Life in a Motorcycle Accident

The victim, Kobayashi, was a resident of Anhai Village in Ankai Township, Lianjiang. According to the family, on the evening of January 18, Kobayashi and his friends went out for a ride. In the early hours of the next day, they decided to visit Aunt Huang, who lived several kilometers away. Kobayashi and three companions rode two motorcycles. Around 3:00 AM, the accident happened.

According to Kobayashi's companion, the motorcycle hit a cement block on the road, causing it to flip over. Kobayashi suffered a severe head injury when he hit the block, and blood spilled onto the ground. He was taken to the Huangxi Health Center for treatment. By around 5:00 AM, the family received a call and rushed to the hospital. Despite being transferred to Lianjiang County Hospital, Kobayashi stopped breathing en route. He was later confirmed dead due to severe brain trauma.

Family Demands Accountability from the Construction Company

After the incident, the family visited the scene and found that part of the road was closed while another part remained open. They observed that only a few traffic cones were placed around the site, with large cement blocks scattered between them. These blocks were described as being the size of a football. Additionally, the family noted that the construction area had only one sign indicating the work site.

They learned that the construction team had been working on repairing cracks in the bridge, and the cement blocks were left behind after excavation. The family believes the construction company is heavily responsible for Kobayashi’s death, as the blocks directly caused the crash and the lack of proper warnings made the site dangerous. They also pointed out that there were no streetlights and no visible warning signs at the location.

The family has not yet contacted the construction company directly but found out that the bridge’s owner is Lianjiang County Road and Port Engineering Development Company, a subsidiary of the Lianyungang Highway Bureau.

According to the Lianjiang Police, they were among the first to respond to the incident. The deceased’s blood test results have been sent to Fuzhou, and preliminary findings indicate the presence of alcohol in his system. However, the full report has not yet been released to the local authorities. The police have not provided further details, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.
