The United States Approves Nuclear Energy Project for the First Time in 30 Year

The Vietnam News Agency reported on February 10 that the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) approved the application of the South American company’s new nuclear reactors at the Vogtle nuclear power plant in Georgia in southern Georgia on February 9.

This is also the first nuclear reactor project approved by the US Nuclear Energy Administration for the past 30 years. The above two nuclear reactors have a total cost of US$14 billion and are expected to be put into operation in 2016 and 2017 respectively. Up to now, the South Company has paid 100 million U.S. dollars for the preliminary preparation of the plant construction.
