Dalian Institute of Lithium Sulfur Secondary Battery Technology Made New Progress

Recently, the research team led by Chen Jian, a researcher at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has made new progress in lithium-sulfur secondary battery technology research and development. Tested by a third-party authority, the newly developed energy-type lithium-sulfur secondary battery has a specific energy of 609 Wh/kg, which refreshes the record of the specific energy of the secondary battery. The battery also demonstrated excellent environmental adaptability: in the environment of -20°C, the discharge specific energy reached 400Wh/kg; it can still work in an extremely cold environment of -60°C, showing significantly better than lithium ion battery The low temperature performance. In addition, the newly developed power lithium-sulfur secondary battery has a sustained discharge rate greater than 4C and pulses up to 10C. At present, the battery developed has passed the third-party safety performance test using the national military standard, and the safety meets the requirements for use. This research proves the possibility of its application in the field of electric vehicles, but it still needs to further overcome the bottleneck problem of poor battery cycle performance before realizing its practical application.

Zhongkepaisi Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. is a joint venture of Dalian Lvsei lithium-sulfur battery technology industrialization. Now it has built a modern lithium-sulfur battery production workshop and automatic production line with a capacity of 3,000,000 Ah/year. It is the first in China. The company specializes in the production and sales of lithium-sulfur batteries, and is also the nano-pilot special lithium-sulfur battery industrialization base of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In recent years, the Chen Jian team has made great strides in the industrialization of lithium-sulfur batteries through cooperation with Sinopec. The lithium-sulfur battery pack for solar unmanned aerial vehicles jointly developed by the two parties participated in the overall system-wide ground joint test organized by the overall unit, which achieved good results and passed user acceptance.
