Chain Link Anti-Intruder Fence – 2.4 m Height Fence and Gates

Chain link anti-intruder fence with at least 2.4 m height for a higher level protection than common Chain link fence, can be made with single or double extension arms on the posts for Barbed Wire or Razor Wire topping. The protective treatments of anti-intruder fence mesh and posts may be zinc coated, class A zinc alloy coated or plastic coated zinc coated. Chain Link Fence and chain mesh gates are both available. Our chain link anti-intruder fencing system conforms to BS 1722-10.

Chain link anti-intruder fence specification:

• Mesh size: 40 mm or 50 mm.
• Mesh protective treatments: zinc coated, class A zinc alloy coated wire, or plastic coated.
• Chain link mesh width: 2.4 m, or 2.7 m (buried 0.3 m).
• Top edge and bottom edge type: barbed.
• Wires: mild steel line wire, stirrup wire, tying wire, barbed wire (conform to BS EN 10223-1).
• Concrete components: concrete posts and struts. Posts for use with barbed wire shall have integral extensions or be holed for the attachment of extension arms.
• Anti-intruder fence toppings:
  • Zinc and zinc-alloy coated steel barbed wire conform to BS EN 10223-1 (see table 4).
  • Razor wire
    • Style: flat razor wire or concertina razor wires.
    • Barb length: short barb or long barb.
    • Material: galvanised steel, stainless steel (for extremely corrosive environments).
    • Wire: high tensile 25 mm, aluminum/zinc wire, breaking load 7700 N.
    • Coil diameter: 600 mm, 750 mm.
    • Number of loops: 55.
• Chain link fence fittings: (zinc coated in accordance with BS EN 10244-2)
  • Post base plates and caps, bolts, nuts and washers.
  • Eye bolt strainers: 250 mm long bolts of at least 9.50 mm diameter, with an eye at one end.
  • Cleats: mild steel angle, 50 mm × 50 mm × 6 mm.
  • Winding brackets for posts: mild steel, flat, 25 mm × 3 mm and fitted with a 12 mm winding bolt, with a friction type, ferrule or ratchet winder. Each winding bracket have one M8 bolt.
  • Stretcher bars, mild steel, flat, holed for attaching to cleats or to straining fittings by 8 mm bolts.
    • 25 mm × 5 mm for 50 mm chain link mesh;
    • or 20 mm × 5 mm for 40 mm chain link mesh.
  • Hair pin staples:
    • For fixing barbed wire to extension arms or droppers, use galvanized hair pin staples with 3 mm diameter and 30 mm leg length.
    • For fastening down the bottom of galvanized wire mesh fencing, use zinc coated hair pin staples with 3.55 mm diameter wire and 30 mm leg length, bent outwards to secure anchorage.
    • For fastening down the bottom of plastic coated chain link fencing, use plastic coated hair pin staples with core diameter 3.55 mm and outside diameter 4.75 mm wire, bent outwards to secure anchorage.
  • Hot dip galvanized Long droppers for barbed wire: mild steel long droppers 25 mm × 5 mm thick, more than 0.45 m long. And holed for the attachment of the top three rows barbed wire.
  • Short droppers for barbed wire: mild steel short droppers 25 mm × 5 mm thick, holed for the attachment of the bottom row of barbed wire and the top line wire. Short droppers shall be of a length to extend 25 mm beyond the line wire and at least 25 mm beyond the barbed wire.
  • Extension arms for attachment of barbed wire
    • Extension arms for barbed wire, straight or bent at an angle of 40° to 45° from the vertical.
    • Holed for the attachment of three lines of barbed wire.
    • Zinc coated extension arms for zinc coated posts, and plastic coated extension arms for plastic coated steel posts.
  • Extension arms for straining posts and gate posts: Extension arms for steel posts have the same section as the post, either integral or welded, or separate for bolting to the top of the post.
  • Extension arms for intermediate posts: Extension arms for intermediate posts shall be holed for the attachment of two 8 mm bolts and to take hair pin staples or stirrup clips for fixing three lines of barbed wire.

Note: All struts shall have a horizontal tie bar not less than 600 mm long, securely fixed to strut and straining post with bolts not less than 8 mm nominal diameter. The ends of hollow sections are to be capped or sealed. Circular hollow post height is excluding extension arm. Normal chain link mesh for wire diameters of 3.55 mm zinc coated and 3.55 mm/4.75 mm plastic coated. Heavy duty chain link mesh for wire diameters of 5.0 mm zinc coated and 4.70 mm/6.4 mm plastic coated. The ends of tubes and hollow sections are to be capped or sealed.
