While 3G offered high-speed wireless connectivity, 4G delivers ultra-fast speeds, reaching up to 100 Mbit/s — ten times faster than 3G and fifty times faster than 2G. They should also offer data management platforms for analyzing and aggregating traffic information. A joint white paper from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and China Mobile Research Institute calls for breaking down the current closed industrial chain. Collaboration among automakers, electronics manufacturers, telecom operators, and local governments is essential for long-term success. Companies like SAIC, FAW, GAC, and Geely are forming strategic partnerships with telecom operators to develop telematics services and gain a competitive edge in the vehicle networking space. With several hundred million yuan invested in IoV industry bases across cities like Beijing, Wuhan, Dongguan, and Chongqing, the sector is rapidly expanding, aiming to become the largest industrial hub in the country.
