Zhongnan Jiete “large-scale polycrystalline diamond” project passed the identification of scientific and technological achievements in Henan Province

On June 30, 2016, commissioned by the Science and Technology Department of Henan Province, Zhengzhou Science and Technology Bureau organized experts to jointly report the direct conversion method of Zhengzhou Zhongnan Jiete Superhard Materials Co., Ltd. of Zhongnan Diamond Co., Ltd. and Henan University of Technology. The large-scale polycrystalline diamond project has been identified for scientific and technological achievements. The appraisal committee is composed of famous experts from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou Machinery Research Institute, and Superhard Materials Branch of China Machine Tool Industry Association. The appraisal committee heard the report of the results of the general manager and project team of Zhongnan Jiete Zhang Kui and reviewed the relevant technical materials. Through Q&A and discussion, the appraisal committee unanimously agreed that the project team explored the mechanism and technical approach of synthesizing large-scale polycrystalline diamond by direct conversion under ultra-high pressure and high temperature conditions, and successfully developed the high-temperature and high-pressure complete equipment needed for synthesis. The high-precision polycrystalline diamond synthesis process technology has obtained high-quality, large-scale diamond samples. The surface of the sample is smooth and crack-free, and the Vickers hardness is greater than 130 GPa (the single crystal diamond Vickers hardness is generally 80-120 GPa). The project has filled the domestic gap, the overall technology has reached the international advanced level, and has reached the international leading level in terms of grain size and color regulation.
The appraisal committee has high hopes for the project prospects, and it is recommended that the project results accelerate the pace of industrialization and realize commercialization and application as soon as possible.
