Solution for video recorder not recording or abnormal recording

When the recorder is recording normally, there will be a recording mark on the preview screen. If the preview is normal but there is no recording mark, it means no recording or abnormal recording. There are generally three cases: there is a picture but no recording after installation, and no recording after motion detection 1. Stop recording after a period of time. 1. Installed with pictures but no video
After installing and debugging the monitoring network, the screen comes out, but there is no recording logo, and the viewing progress bar is empty.

2. Is the camera set to H.265 encoding mode?
If the camera is set to H.265 encoding format, and the recorder only supports H.264 and does not support H.265 decoding, then the recorder will not be able to record. You can select the encoding mode as H.264 and save it on the web interface of the camera, and the recorder can record normally.
3. Is there a recording plan?
By default, the hard disk recorder enables full-day recording. Some users may set a recording plan to extend the storage time of the hard disk. Go to "Settings> Storage Settings> Recording Plan" to check whether the recording plan setting of each channel is reasonable.


In the figure above, the blue part represents the time period for scheduled recording, the green part represents the motion detection, and the gray part represents the time period without recording. During the non-scheduled recording period, there may be no recording.
4. Do you manually close the recording?
During the installation of the recorder, the "Start recording immediately" check box was manually removed after the setup wizard, which caused the recording to be closed. After setting, the preview is normal, but all channels are not recorded.
Go to "Settings> Storage Settings> Recording Control" and check whether the recording mode of each channel is on.


2. No video recording after setting motion detection
The motion detection video is set in the video plan, but there is no video when someone moves? It is likely that motion detection is not turned on.
Please check whether the motion detection is enabled for each channel in "Settings> Event Settings> Motion Detection". Only when it is enabled, the recorder will record when someone moves.
Note: Please make sure the camera has been upgraded to the new software version.
If different hard disk recorders are used with cameras from other manufacturers, the camera settings may be unsuccessful because the camera uses a private protocol to set up motion detection. Please enter the web interface of the camera and manually turn on the camera motion detection function.
3. Stop recording after a period of time
If the recording stops after a period of time, it is likely that the hard disk is faulty-the hard disk has bad sectors. Please go to "Settings> Storage Settings> Hard Disk Management> Bad Track Detection", select the corresponding hard disk, and click "Complete Detection", as shown below:


Wait for the hard disk test to complete. If there is a red color block in the test result, it means that the hard disk has bad sectors and cannot store videos. Please replace the normal hard disk for use.
In addition, it may be that the hard disk is not turned on for cyclic writing. By default, the hard disk recorder turns on hard disk circular writing. Please turn off manual writing in "Settings> Storage Settings> Hard Disk Management". If it is not turned on, the recording will stop after the hard disk is full.
