Steam Traps works and methods of use

The most basic principle that the steam trap discharges condensate water is to make use of the weight difference and temperature difference of steam and water to realize the purpose of water repellent. 1. Steam traps require only steam for their function and for equipment that utilizes steam. Condensation water is sure to be produced in such equipment, and condensate is a detrimental fluid, mixed with air and other non-condensable gases, which can cause equipment failure and performance degradation. In this case, the most important function of the steam trap has the following three aspects: (1) can quickly rule out the resulting condensate. (2) to prevent steam leakage. (3) exclude air and other non-condensable gas. 2. Eliminate the need for condensation water to prevent water hammer. First of all, from a safety point of view, if there is condensate in the steam line, the high velocity steam will push the condensed water together, causing the condensate to impinge strongly on the pipe wall and on the valve and steam handling equipment, To a great impact. This phenomenon is called water hammer, also known as water hammer or water hammer. When the water hammer is strong, it will cause the pipe bend and the valve damage or damage. Second, the phenomenon of water hammer is not only due to condensation water. Due to improper installation and use of the boiler, sometimes the water in the boiler enters the steam and is led to the delivery pipeline. Therefore, if the structure of the boiler is defective or improperly used, the water level in the boiler will be too high. Therefore, the steam supplied by the boiler is too humid and the formation rate of condensate is accelerated, which is also one of the causes of water hammer. In general, the saturated steam supplied by the boiler should have a humidity of less than 4%; if it is 6%, the humidity will be high; if it reaches 10%, the humidity will be too high. In the case of large or excessive humidity, it is necessary to modify the structure of the boiler or to solve the installation problems.
