Coal-fired boilers come in various types, primarily classified based on their structural design. They can generally be categorized into vertical live coal-fired boilers, horizontal water-tube coal-fired boilers, and horizontal fire-tube coal-fired boilers. Among these, horizontal boilers are further divided into D0 and O0 types. These classifications cover the majority of coal-fired boilers currently used in Xining City. Notably, all vertical live boilers employ a fixed grate system without exception, while the other two types typically use chain grate combustion methods. The main differences between gas and coal combustion lie in their heat transfer mechanisms and the basic principles involved in boiler conversion. Due to the high altitude of the region, these boilers often face challenges such as insufficient output and significant emissions. Regardless of the specific design of a vertical live boiler, its internal structure is quite similar, with arc-shaped arches typically installed in the furnace chamber. Furnace modifications for coal-fired boilers have limited space. The most common approach involves removing the grate and support structure, then expanding the ash layer as part of the furnace. If the boiler has a double grate, and the flame is directed to cool the grate, refractory materials must also be used as linings to reduce soot buildup. Because gas combustion produces weaker radiant heat, it is usually necessary to add twice the amount of radiative heating surfaces within the furnace. When feasible, additional heat-absorbing surfaces are placed at the rear of the boiler to improve overall thermal efficiency. In terms of vertical boiler renovation, the process typically starts by removing the fixed grate and its supporting framework. The ash removal area is then modified, with two fire bricks laid down, followed by a layer of refractory bricks of appropriate thickness. A burner is then installed horizontally or at a slight angle relative to the horizontal plane. The furnace is sealed using firebricks, and the system is equipped with control components that include high-energy ignition, flame monitoring, and flameout protection features. This ensures safe and efficient operation during the conversion process.

Expansion And Shrinkage Reducing Agent

Expansion agent is added to compensate the shrinkage of cement at early stage or later stage along the hydration process. For different requirement, different types of expansion agent are recommended, such as CSA expansion agent or expansion agent to control the plastic shrinkage.
