I. Introduction
In the manufacturing industry, the direction of the new technology is to establish a transparent open business operation based on the Internet/Intranet to replace the traditional seller-driven system. This requires a networked manufacturing model with a fast-response mechanism that is driven by market demand to fully utilize enterprise manufacturing resources and social manufacturing resources. As an important manufacturing resource, CNC equipment needs to integrate the processing information related to numerical control equipment into a unified Web platform to realize the networked integration of CNC machining information.
Second, CAD / CAM system integration
1. Structure type of CAD/CAM integrated system
Traditional systems: These systems were developed earlier, such as I-DEAS, UG-II, CADAM, CATIA, CADDS and other well-known software. This type of software is highly specialized, and due to the limitations of the hardware environment, design ideas, and design methods at the beginning of development, these systems are not easily adaptable to highly integrated requirements.
Improved systems: These systems were developed in the 1980s, such as CIMPLEX, Pro/ENGINEER, and others. Some of these systems are highly automated, such as parametric feature design, system data and file management, automatic generation of CNC machining programs, etc., but there is still a lack of support for data exchange and shared information integration requirements.
Data Driven System: This is a new generation of CAD/CAM integrated systems under development. The basic starting point is to look at the entire life cycle of the product, seeking ways to fully exchange and share product data, in order to achieve integration to a higher degree and a wider range. The main approach is to adopt the STEP product data exchange standard to gradually realize the unified system information structure design and system function design.
2, CAD / CAM integration method
Several integration methods for CAD/CAM:
(1) CAD/CAM integration based on dedicated interface
Among all CAD/CAM integration methods, integration based on dedicated interfaces is the most primitive one. For the dedicated interface, it can be understood from two aspects. First, there is no connection between the integrated systems. The interface must be specially developed to enable two different systems to communicate indirectly. Second, the system developer develops a dedicated interface. In order to solve the information exchange between the series of products.
(2) CAD/CAM integration based on STEP
STEP (Standard for the Exchange of Product data) standard, which provides a neutral mechanism that does not depend on a specific system. It specifies the product design, development, manufacturing, and even the product shape, including the product shape. , Analytical models, materials, processing methods, assembly decomposition sequences, inspection tests, and other necessary information definitions and external descriptions of data exchange. Thus STEP is based on an integrated product information model.
(3) Database-based CAD/CAM integration
CAD/CAM integrated systems typically use an engineering database. In fact, because the engineering database is unique in storing and managing a large amount of complex data, the CAD/CAM integrated system built with the core of the engineering database has been widely used. The system structure is shown in the figure. All the links from product design to manufacturing have data exchange with the engineering database, which realizes the system-wide sharing of data.
