The National Hazardous Waste Disposal Engineering Technology Center has recently settled in Tianjin and is scheduled to be completed and used in 2013. The center integrates technology research and development, technology upgrades and personnel training, and will provide technical support for the disposal of hazardous wastes in Tianjin and even the whole country.
The main task of the center is to provide technical support for national hazardous waste and medical waste management, research and development of technical specifications, standards and technologies for the management of hazardous waste incineration and high temperature steam sterilization and microwave treatment of medical waste. Economic policies, etc.; carry out technical assessments and environmental assessments for engineering consulting, design, construction, and operation of hazardous waste and medical waste disposal equipment and facilities; and train engineering and technical personnel needed for hazardous waste disposal in the country.
It is understood that the harmless treatment and disposal of hazardous wastes in Tianjin has maintained a leading position in the country.
