Half of timber splints exported from Sarawak, Malaysia

According to the timber industry development bureau of Sarawak, Malaysia, the total export of timber products in the first half of this year in Sarawak was RM3.775 billion. Among the five timber export products, the first was splints, and the export value exceeded RM2 billion (54%). The second is Mouton, with an export value of RM890 million (24%); the third sawmill is MYR388 million (11%); followed by fiberboard (export value of RM177 million, which is 5%) And plywood (export volume 127 million RM, 3%).

The exporting countries and regions of Shazhou wood products are Japan (RM1.381 billion, accounting for 37%), India (RM5.88 billion, accounting for 16%), Middle Eastern countries (MYR380 million, accounting for 10%), and China Taiwan region ( RM 353 million (nearly 10%), Korea (RM 310 million, 8%) and China (RM 161 million, 4%). The amount of wood exported from Sarawak to EU countries was MYR 2.4 million in the first half of the year, and it was RM 76 million when exported to the United States. In the past two years, the Bureau of Timber Industry Development in Sarawak has been making continuous efforts to promote wood products. At the same time, efforts have also been made to promote forestry, plantation and pulp industry.
